Hardest Decision

May 13th, 2007

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been speaking to company in London about a new job. After travelling up there and taking their technical test, and two rounds of interviews I finally heard from them. They did indeed want me to start working for them, and all I had to say was yes. However, there were a couple of things that were playing on my mind. After the first interview I was pretty excited about the whole prospect, but this completely changed after the second interview. Furthermore, after getting to know more specific information about the type of work involved, I was starting to wondering if this would be the correct move for me. I wrestled with this decision for a number of nights, which of course meant very little sleep for me. Added to all this, there are a number of potential projects in the pipeline at work, which are exactly the type of thing I want to do. After discussing it a couple of times with Jen and some other friends I phoned them up and turned the offer down. I’m sure that working there would have been an amazing experience, but it’s not the right time for me. If it was two years ago, then it might have worked, maybe a year from now it could work, but right now it’s a no.
